Who or What is to Blame for the Great War?The Great War lasted from July 1914 to November 1918. Let me set the scene. There were 4 main causes for World war 1: militarism, alliances, imperialism, and nationalism. The most important underlying cause of the war however, was alliances. Alliances are military and diplomatic agreements between countries. for example: the Triple Entente(Britain, France, and Russia) Alliances were a definite result of distrust among different countries, expected to promote peace but instead, causing a war.

Was Germany Quick Enough?
The Schlieffen plan was originally devised by general Alfred Von Schlieffen in order to avoid war on two fronts . The plan was to attack france as fast as possible, they planned on doing so by first invading Belgium. After this, they would use their modern railroad system to invade Russia. However this plan would only work assuming Russia would need 6 weeks to mobilize. This plan only worked to make matters worse, Britain soon entered the war by declaring war against Germany.
What's New? : Technologies of WWI
The War has been considered the war that brought the world into the 20th Century due to its innovations in all types of technology. New weapons such as machine guns, artilleries, and gas bombs were made during this time in order for soldiers to be able to kill quicker and from further distance. Other inventions that had already been created were improved on. Things such as airplanes, submarines, and tanks were worked on to make them useful for war.

Would You Enter "No Man's Land"
Trench warfare is a type of combat in which opposing troops fight from trenches facing each other. During trench warfare two opposing sides would shoot at each other and drop gas bombs from war planes. While one side would shoot, the other side often was trying to advance forward and take over the other side's trench. The area between the trenches was named "no man's land"due to it's extremely deadly nature.

What is Your Role in the War
World War 1 was known to be a total war. Total War is when the entire resources and population are mobilized towards the war effort, which takes priority over everything else. Women were working in munitions factories, heavy industry, and many other jobs they hadn't done before. World War 1 was the first war where cities and villages were targeted for attacks.

What could you do to help?
During World War 1, everyone and every thing had some type of role in the war. Men were to go to war, and women were meant to work to send weapons into the war, even children were needed to convince their parents to take part in the war. During the war , nations used propaganda to convince people to participate in the war somehow.many poster were used to motivate people to go to war, buy bonds, work in factories, etc. Many posters promoted fear, nationalism, or both.

USA Joins the War/ The End
For a long time during the war, America had remained not participating in the war. However, Germany did Two things that crossed the line for America. During the war Germany was shooting America's ships down from their submarines, until they came to an agreement that Germany would warn Woodrow Wilson before they were going to shoot any ships. Even though Germany had made an agreement, they still torpedoed American ships, and on top of that they sent the Zimmerman letter to mexico, through Western Union, threatening America's territory. Turkey signed an armistice at the end of October 1918, Austria-Hungary followed on November 3. The terms of the agreement called for the end of fighting along the entire Western Front to begin at exactly 11 AM on November 11th, 1918.

A New World is Formed
Czechoslavakia (now Czech republic and Slovakia), came from Germany. Most of Poland, Finland, and Romania came from Russia. Serbia changed to Yugoslavia. All those Middle-eastern countries (Lebanon, Iraq, Iran, turkey...) came from the Ottoman Empire. Many of the modern day south-eastern European countries came from Austro-Hungary.
